flexOmould

Abate Basilio has developed a new system of modular mould called FlexoMould. This proprietary technology allows us to change the format in a completely safe manner through the movements of the machine platen without any risks for the moulds and the operators.

FlexoMould ensures a fast change and set up of other moulding modules in order to manufacture different products on the same mould without the need to remove the mould from the machine platens. Furthermore the mould obtained with this technology allows to take advantage of the automation in the best way.

This system allows to maintain the same number of cavities, the same distance between centres and the same type of extraction, by ensuring flexibility and optimization of the IML production line at the same time.

  • Modularity of the cavities in order to change the dimensions and the shape of the products on the same mould.

  • Fast change and set up of other modules directly on the machine without removing the mould from the machine platens.

  • Set up time to change the format: for a 2-cavity FlexoMould® < 20 min., for a 4-cavitiy FlexoMould® < 40 min.

  • The format change operations can be carried out under completely safe conditions through the movements of the machine platens without any risks for the moulds and the operators.

  • It is no longer required to remove the mould from the machine and to change the format in the maintenance room of the company: all the mounting/dismantling operations are made directly by the machine.

  • Furthermore the mould manufactured using this strategy allows to take better advantage of the automation. As a matter of fact, thanks to this system the number of cavities remains unchanged, the same distance between centres and the same type of extraction are maintained in order to take better advantage of the flexibility of the robot, thus optimizing the investment in the IML production lines.

  • Especially suitable to cover production requirements which do not ensure the full load of the production cell.

Our production line includes 5-axis machining centres with fully automatic tool and pallets changers which allow us to achieve maximum repeatability and quickest throughput. Our machines are equipped with a laser control of the real dimensions directly obtained during the process in order to achieve the maximum precisions.

Our technical department ensures a fast, reliable and precise after-sale service. 95% of the company production is destined to be exported to different countries located over 5 continents.
